The bank's working hours are over and its director closes the door, not noticing that thieves are hiding behind it. The thieves manage to break into the safe and have the money in their hands when the security grille falls down. The thieves call the emergency services and the operation to free them can begin.

A musical screen comedy based on the French play La Cagnotte (The Piggy Bank in English) by Eugène Marin Labiche. A group of provincial Bourgeois decide to spend savings they accumulated for a year of playing cards together on a memorable deed. After humorous strategizing and alliance forming, Leonida, the unmarried sister and Blanche, the engaged daughter, of Monsieur Champbourcy, entice the group to spend the money on what they imagine a luxurious journey to a capital city. A very memorable event indeed it was.

Very different in format from the 1945-1957 version hosted by Bert Parks, this show was primarily based on luck and nerves with the ability to separate truth from bluff helping out. Two contestants (One's a Returning Champion) were presented with a 4x5=20 grid with 9 celebrity guests seated along the top and side. Behind each square in the grid was either a set amount of money ($100 both abc & syndicated, $200 on abc, $300 both abc & syndicated & $500 on syndicated), a money bag, a wild account or a blank. If a contestant chose a blank, his or her turn was over and control was passed to his or her opponent. If he or she drew a dollar amount, a question would be asked of the celebrities to the top and side of the square with one answering truthfully (True) and the other giving a fake answer (False). Two couples competed in a game similar to Super Password. The host would read a question whose answer was a clue to a puzzle. Six clues, each more revealing than the last, were given to the puzzle. Each correct clue earned the winning team more time to use in the bonus round should they reach it. The team to solve two puzzles first played the bizarre bonus round, which involved completing different stunts at different stations to earn Bank Cards. One stunt per week was manned by a celebrity or celebrities. After time expired the team used their bank cards to see if they had found the one special card that would "Break the Bank" which won them a growing jackpot of cash and prizes. The stunt bonus round was eventually replaced and the format changed completely. In the second format, the two couples played the puzzle round for money. The team that solved $2000 worth of puzzles first played a special puzzle round to determine how many bank cards they would take in the vault.
